Emily is the little cousin of Alexandra Matthes, manager of the Rainbow City School Transportation Company. In the first story, Julie Jolson saved her from the rampage of Charles Douglas. Julie learned that Emily was an only child and often felt lonely, depsite having friends at school to talk to. A day later, Emily began to ride the bus driven by Julie and the two became close friends.
